Four Players Selected For ICC Women’s T20 Player Of Year Award

Four players selected for the ICC Women’s T20 Player of the Year Award, including one Indian player.

Four of the best female players in international cricket who have shown their bat flair throughout the year have been selected for the T20 Awards.

The name of the Indian T20 team’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana is also included in these four women players. Apart from this, the names of the batsmen of England and Ireland are included

. The names were announced by the ICC on Thursday. It is going to be very difficult to pick the winner based on the performance of all the four players nominated for the award.

India opener Smriti Mandhana was on Thursday nominated for the ICC Women’s T20 Player of the Year award along with three other cricketers.

Apart from Mandhana, England cricketers Tammy Beaumont and Natalie Sciver, and Gabby Lewis of Ireland are other contenders for the award.

The ICC announced these names by sharing a message along with the picture of these four players on Twitter.

In 2021, Mandhana scored 255 runs in nine T20Is at an average of 31.87, including two half-centuries. Mandhana was the highest scorer in the T20I series with England with 119 runs.

However, no player from India has been nominated for the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year for the year 2021.

Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, Pakistan captain Babar Azam, South Africa’s Jaaneman Malan, and Ireland’s Paul Stirling are in the race for the award.

Australian team batsman Travis Head is currently the top run-scorer in the ongoing three-match Ashes series between Australia and England, but he will miss the fourth Test because he has been found infected with the coronavirus.

Travis Head scored a century in the first Test match of the Ashes series at Brisbane. The fourth Ashes Test in Sydney begins on January 5.

Travis Head has tested positive for the COVID-19 test, but has no symptoms and will be in isolation in Melbourne with his wife for seven days in accordance with the Victorian government’s health protocol.

A Cricket Australia spokesperson said: “As part of our testing procedures, we are conducting daily PCR tests of players, their families, and our support staff.”
