He said the situation in Amravati is under control. There have been no casualties in the violence. He further said the matter will definitely be investigated.

Four-day curfew: So far 35 people arrested in Nanded.
Officials said on Sunday that so far 35 people have been arrested by the police in the Nanded district. He said that at present the situation in Nanded is peaceful.
Stones were pelted at a police van here on Friday in which two policemen were injured.
A senior police officer said the violence took place in the Wazirabad area and Deglur Naka in Nanded city, with an estimated loss of around Rs one lakh.
Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar Shewale told the news agency, ‘Nanded Police has so far arrested 35 people allegedly involved in this incident. The situation is now under control and peaceful.
A day earlier (on Friday) against the recent violence in Tripura, local BJP workers had organized a bandh on Saturday in protest against the rallies organized by Muslim organizations.
At the same time, the mob pelted stones at some shops, which worsened the situation.
It is noteworthy that on Friday, stone pelting was reported in Tripura during rallies taken out by Muslim organizations in Amaravati, Nanded, Malegaon, Washim, and Yavatmal.
In Amravati, more than eight thousand people had gathered outside the district collector’s office on Friday to submit a memorandum.
When people came out after handing over the memorandum, stone-pelting took place at three places between Chitra Chowk and Cotton Bazar of the Kotwali police station area.
The violence started in Amravati city after stone-pelting.
Shops were burnt in many areas. In protest against Friday’s violence, a demonstration was organized by the Hindu community in Amravati on Saturday.
In connection with Friday’s incidents, the police have so far registered 20 FIRs, arrested 20 people, and detained four others.
