February 11 is important for the Amazon-Future deal, Delhi High Court will hear the case.

All pending petitions regarding disputes related to deals in 2019 between Amazon and Future Group will be heard together on Friday.

A bench of Justice C Hari Shankar of the Delhi High Court said that the court is in favor of speedy hearing of the petitions in this case and does not want to allow the hearing to linger.

The Supreme Court last week set aside two previous decisions of two separate single-judge benches of the Delhi High Court.

Along with this, the High Court was asked to hear the dispute afresh on the basis of merit.

During the hearing, the court listed the matter for hearing on Friday while directing the lawyers of both the parties to submit on record short notes related to the dispute by Thursday.

February 11 is important for the Amazon-Future deal: Meanwhile, Amazon’s counsel sought not to club the Amazon vs ED case with these petitions.

the bench said that the issue should be taken up with the Chief Justice as the present matters are listed before the court through an administrative order.

In January, intensifying the legal battle, Amazon had moved the SC against a Delhi HC order that had stayed its ongoing arbitration proceedings with Future Group regarding a 2019 deal between the firms.

After this, on 5 January, the Delhi High Court stayed the mediation proceedings of both the parties before the Singapore Tribunal till 1 February.

Setting aside the orders of the Delhi High Court initiating strict action against Future Group companies and its promoters for alleged violation of the Emergency Award (EA) passed by the Singapore AT.

The Supreme Court observed that courts should be vigilant in such matters.

Commercial affairs, in particular, are having a serious impact on the economy and employment of thousands of people.
