The government of Jharkhand is raising the voice for farmers from Ranchi to Delhi. Their right is being voiced but they seem indifferent to the steps being taken to help the farmers of the state.
Farmers are waiting till date to announce the debt waiver budget.
A provision of Rs 2000 crore was made in the budget for loan waiver of farmers, but till now the achievement in this direction is limited to repeated meetings and announcements.
Of the total budget of 3362.78 crores fixed for agriculture and allied departments, about 60 percent was kept only for loan waiver of farmers.
Chief Minister Krishi Aashirwad Yojana of the previous government has been stopped.
Only 72.91 crores spent in eight months
The eight-month achievement of the agricultural budget is limited to just two percent of the expenditure.
Out of the agriculture budget of 3362.78 crore, only 72.91 crore has been spent in the last eight months on the schemes being run for the benefit of farmers.
The performance of all the agriculture related divisions agriculture, animal husbandry, dairy, fisheries and cooperatives has been very disappointing.
The Cooperative Department, having a budget of 216 crores, has not spent even one rupee in the last eight months.
Bharat Bandh in Jharkhand: Politics in Jharkhand, support of JMM and Congress on Bharat bandh; BJP criticized
Today, on December 8, politics has started in Jharkhand on the Bharat Bandh of farmers.
On one hand the ruling Congress and JMM are supporting this bandh, on the other hand BJP has criticized Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

He said at the party headquarters on Monday that a new protest would be started in Jharkhand in the interest of farmers.
It will start from India bandh. The workers have been given the task of making the bandh successful. He urged business entities to cooperate in the bandh.
Supriyo Bhattacharya said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren has termed the agricultural laws of the Center as black law.
The JMM will leave no stone unturned to make the Bharat Bandh a success to protect the farmers.
He called the Union government to withdraw the agricultural laws, calling it unethical and unconstitutional.
