An encounter is going on between the police and Naxalites on the border of Dantewada-Narayanpur district in Chhattisgarh. So far seven Naxalites have been killed in the encounter with the police. The bodies of all 7 and a large number of automatic weapons have been recovered. The encounter is still going on.
According to the information received, a search operation of Naxalites is going on in the Maad area on the Narayanpur-Dantewada border. The incident is being investigated.
News of encounters keeps coming from Chhattisgarh every day. Earlier on September 23, there was an encounter in Narayanpur, in which three Naxalites were killed, in which 3 Naxalites including 2 men and 1 woman were killed. Along with this, AK 47 other weapons and ammunition were also recovered. Narayanpur police have given this information.
On the very next day, September 24, there was an encounter in the Sukma district. 2 Naxalites were killed in the encounter. However, after the encounter, both bodies were taken away by their comrades. Let us tell you that CRPF, DRG, and Cobra soldiers had entered the core area of Naxalites in Karkanguda.
How many Naxalites have been killed so far this year?
So far this year, the number of Naxalites killed by security forces in different incidents in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh has increased to 157.
During a clash between two groups in Ukhrul, Manipur, a mob attacked a police station and looted weapons. Officials gave this information on Thursday. Three people were killed and 20 were injured in a shootout between two groups on Wednesday over the cleaning of disputed land in the city under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Members of both the groups belong to the Naga community, but are residents of different villages. Both claim their rights over that land. After the clash, prohibitory orders were imposed in the city. Mobile internet services have been suspended. Weapons had been looted from various police stations in the state earlier also, but those areas were dominated by the Meitei or Kuki community. According to the source, for the first time, a police station has been attacked in a Naga-dominated area. This police station is a few meters away from the Assam Rifles camp.
Two youths held hostage by armed men in the Kangpokpi district of Manipur were released on Thursday, seven days after their kidnapping. The officer said that both the youths – Oinam Thoithoi Singh and Thoithoiba Singh were handed over to the Superintendent of Police of Kangpokpi at Gamgiphai Naka at around 5 am. Both reached Imphal under the protection of state police and Assam Rifles. Both will be handed over to their families soon. Both had gone with another youth Johnson Singh on September 27. They lost their way. The two young people were kept under the control of the armed guys, but Johnson was saved by the army and turned over to the police.
