Supreme Court: Punjab-Tamil Nadu governments reached the Supreme Court against the governors, what is the matter?

The governments of Punjab and Tamil Nadu have approached the Supreme Court over the delay by the Governors in giving approval to the bills passed in the Assemblies.

Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit and Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi are at loggerheads between the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party government and the MK Stalin-led DMK government, respectively.

Bills sent for the Governor’s green signal.

The Governor was asked to approve these bills, but he is still trapped with the issue.

As a result, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was forced to postpone the special session and said that he would appeal to the Supreme Court.

Similarly, the Tamil Nadu government said in the petition that 12 bills passed in the Assembly are pending in the office of Governor RN Ravi.

Two petitions were submitted to the Supreme Court on October 28.

The Punjab Government’s petition’s specifics are currently unavailable in this. Governor of Punjab Banwarilal Purohit has signed off on just 22 of the 27 measures that were cleared by the Assembly.

Three finance bills were to be introduced by the Punjabi government during an Assembly extraordinary session.
