ED Interrogates The Son Of The CPI (M) Secretary For 12-hours in the Kerala Gold smuggling case. The youth unit of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) had alleged that Binesh had close ties with some members of the drugs racket.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), probing the gold smuggling case in Kerala. On Wednesday ED Interrogates Binesh Kodiyari, son of state CPI (M) Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, for about 12 hours. The ED also filed a report in the court, alleging links between the Bangalore drugs case and the gold smuggling case.

Binesh reached the ED office at around 10 am on Wednesday and was allowed to leave at around 10 pm after questioning. On exit, the media tried to talk to him, but he refused to talk. Recently, the Narcotics Control Bureau in Bangalore busted a drug racket and Binesh was summoned for questioning over allegations of close ties with some members of that racket. But it was not known on what issue the ED questioned him.

In fact, the youth unit of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) had alleged that Binesh had close ties with some members of the drugs racket. Earlier in the day, the ED told the special court that the Bangalore-based drug smuggling accused is suspected of helping those allegedly involved in the sensational case of gold smuggling in Kerala.

The ED made the plea before the special court of PMLA cases here requesting extension of judicial custody of the three accused of gold smuggling, Sarith PS, Sandeep Nair and Swapna Suresh.

Continuation of more than 10 thousand cases in Andhra Pradesh

Except for one day in Andhra Pradesh, more than 10,000 new cases are being reported every day for the past two weeks. The number of infected in the state has exceeded five lakhs. Andhra Pradesh is the second state in the country after Maharashtra with more than five lakh infected people.

Karnataka has also been receiving more than nine thousand new cases for the past few days in a row and the total infected has exceeded 4.20 lakh. Cases are also increasing in Kerala and Telangana. More than 34 hundred new cases have been found in Kerala and over 24 hundred in Telangana.
