The police arrested five people allegedly involved in drug peddling. Officials gave this information on Monday.

Three people were arrested in the Cachar district.

Three people were arrested in the Lakhipur area of ​​Cachar district on Sunday with 1.80 lakh pills used for intoxication.

Police said that the international market value of the seized bullets is around Rs 50 crore.

The accused have been identified as Abdul Saeed, Ibazur Rahman, and Sameer Alam, all residents of the Cachar district.

Cachar Superintendent of Police Numal Mahato said, ‘These three were smuggling bullets in a lorry. The drugs were being smuggled in a secret chamber built into the vehicle’s carrier.

Based on specific information, three persons were arrested and the tablet was seized after the vehicle was searched.

Tablet was being brought from Manipur.

The police officer further said that according to preliminary investigation, Abdul Sayeed had brought the tablet from the Churachandpur district of neighboring Manipur state.

The aim was to smuggle them abroad. Further investigation is on in the matter. Four quintals of ganja were seized from the Karbi Anglong district

In another incident, police, and CRPF in a joint operation intercepted a truck and seized four quintals of ganja hiding in a modified secret room in Karbi Anglong district on Sunday. Two accused were arrested.
