Meanwhile, the Delhi Police on Tuesday said it has provided security to suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma as she was receiving death threats for her controversial religious remarks.

The matter has come to the fore after the suspension of BJP leader Nupur Sharma for her alleged controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammad in a TV debate.

Both the leaders were recently suspended from BJP.

Significantly, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday suspended its spokesperson Nupur Sharma and leader Naveen Jindal from the primary membership of the party after their alleged inflammatory remarks against a particular community.

Suspending both the leaders, the BJP said that it respects all religions and is against any ideology that insults any sect or religion.
