Buddhist religious leader Dalai Lama may visit the Union Territory of Ladakh in the months of July-August.
The Dalai Lama often visits Leh in the summer months to participate in religious programs in Ladakh.
During this special meeting was held at his residence in McLeodganj in Dharamsala on Monday.
The Fourteenth Dalai Lama assured Ladakh’s Buddhist guru Thiksey Rinpoche and former Lok Sabha member Thupstan Chhiwang that they would visit Ladakh in the coming month.
In the situation arising out of Corona in the country, the Dalai Lama has spent most of his time at his residence in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh.
In such a situation, he used to give virtual darshan to the people. In such a situation, he will now visit for the first time in the situation created by Korena for two years.
In such a situation, when the Dalai Lama comes to Ladakh, he is sure to be warmly welcomed this time.
On Monday morning, a three-member delegation from Ladakh had a special meeting with the Dalai Lama.
During this, Thiksey Rinpoche invited the Dalai Lama on behalf of the people of the regions to attend them, citing religious programs in Ladakh during the summer months.
At the same time, during the discussion on the situation in Ladakh, MP Thupstan Chhiwang also informed the Dalai Lama about the activities of the Ladakh Buddhist Association in the region.
Chhiwang is the head of the Ladakh Buddhist Association. On this occasion, Wain Shatup Chamga, President of Ladakh Gompa Association was also present with him.
Meanwhile, the Ladakh delegation was received by Sikyong Penpa Tsering at the Central Tibet Administration in Dharamsala after meeting the Dalai Lama.
The Dalai Lama has many followers in Ladakh. Leh is also home to a large number of families migrating from Tibet. In such a situation, the Dalai Lama made a nineteen-day visit to Ladakh in July 2018.
During this, he also celebrated his 83rd birthday on 6 July in Leh along with participating in many religious programs held there.
The Dalai Lama has not visited Ladakh since Ladakh became a union territory.
