COVID Cases India: One person died in UP and four in Kerala due to Corona, so many cases were reported across the country today; WHO issued an advisory.

The resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic is evident once again in India, with the Union Health Ministry reporting 335 new cases on Sunday.

The country currently has a total of 1,701 active COVID-19 cases, contributing to the overall caseload of 4.50 crore (4,50,04,816).

COVID-19 Update: A notable development in Kerala has heightened concerns, as four individuals succumbed to the virus.

In an 8 am update, five additional deaths were reported, four in Kerala and one in Uttar Pradesh, bringing the total death toll to 5,33,316.

The recent rise in fatalities has sparked renewed worries within the health department.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a new advisory in response to the escalating spread of COVID-19, urging countries, including India, to stay vigilant.

The WHO emphasizes the importance of adhering to COVID-19 protocols and advocates for continued stringent monitoring and testing in affected regions.

To further communicate the gravity of the situation, the WHO has shared a video featuring Dr. Maria Van, the global health body’s COVID-19 technical head.

In the video, Dr. Van succinctly explains the causes of COVID-19 and underscores preventive measures.

Adding to the concerns is the emergence of a new COVID-19 variant, JN.1, heightening apprehensions among the public.

While it is believed that existing vaccines can treat this variant, its potential for future challenges in terms of spread is acknowledged.

There is also a fear that individuals previously infected with COVID-19 or those vaccinated may still be susceptible to this new variant.

A 79-year-old woman in Kerala has exhibited symptoms of the JN.1 variant, prompting ongoing treatment and monitoring.
