Court Will Pronounce Verdict On Disputed Structure Demolition

Court will pronounce a verdict on the disputed structure demolition tomorrow, after 28 years, Advani and Joshi are also accused. Ayodhya Controversial Structure Demolition Case: Construction of the grand temple of Lord Shri Ram in Ramnagri Ayodhya has started.

The wait for a court verdict in the disputed structure demolition case in Ayodhya will end on Wednesday after 28 years. The CBI has been writing a decision in this case continuously since the beginning of this month and it will be heard on September 30.

The court has also directed the accused to remain present while delivering the verdict. Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, President of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirthakshetra Trust, will not be present in the special court during the judgment on the Babri demolition due to ill health.

It includes LK Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, former Union Minister Uma Bharti, and others accused in the BJP Guides Board in Case No. 198. He is accused of making inflammatory speeches.

During the continuous trial of this case, 351 witnesses and 600 documents were produced. The CBI Special Court reserved the verdict on September 1 after continuous hearing and started writing the judgment from September 2.

After the incident that took place on 6 December 1992 in Ayodhya, many accused are not alive to hear the verdict of the case. Of the 49 accused included in its charge sheet, 17 have died.

In the case, the accused and the CBI several times approached the High Court to the Supreme Court. Finally, on 19 April 2017, the Supreme Court set a deadline for the trial court to complete the case and now the verdict has come.

Significantly, in this high profile case, CBI produced 351 prosecution witnesses. About 600 documentary evidences have also been introduced. On September 1, the oral debate of the defense and prosecution was completed in this case. From September 2, the court started writing its decision.

There were a total of 49 FIRs.

On December 6, 1992, a total of 49 FIRs were lodged in the disputed structure collapse. One FIR was lodged in the Ramjanmabhoomi police station of Faizabad by the then SO Priyavanda Nath Shukla while the other SI Ganga Prasad Tiwari. The remaining 47 FIRs were filed by different journalists and photographers on different dates.

It is 32 charged

Santosh Dubey, Gandhi Yadav, Ramji Gupta, Braj Bhushan Sharan Singh, Kamlesh Tripathi, Ramchandra Khatri, Jai Bhagwan Goyal, Om Prakash Pandey, Amar Nath Goyal, Jaibhan Singh Powaiya, Maharaj Swami Sakshi, Vinay Kumar Rai, Naveen Bhai Shukla, RN Srivastava, Acharya Dharmendra Dev, Sudhir Kumar Kakkar, and Dharmendra Singh Gurjar.

Death of these 17 accused

Laxminarayan Das, Ramesh Pratap Singh, Hargovind Singh, Baikunthal Sharma, Mahamandaleshwar Jagdish Muni Maharaj and Dr. Satish Nagar.

Structure demolition case will be final judgment of judge SK Yadav

The structure demolition case will be the final decision of CBI Special Judge Surendra Kumar Yadav. As Additional Sessions Judge / Special Judge Ayodhya, he started hearing the case on 25 August 2015. Meanwhile, he was promoted to the post of District and Sessions Judge on 25 November 2018.

Nevertheless, he continued to hear the case through the Supreme Court’s order of 19 April 2017. SK Yadav retired on 30 September 2019 but continued to hear the case through another order of the Supreme Court.

SK Yadav, a special judge of CBI, originally hailing from Jaunpur, came to judicial service on June 8, 1990 as Munsif. On 15 December 2008, he joined the High Judicial Service. During the judicial service, he was posted in Faizabad, Hardoi Sultanpur, Etawah, Bhadohi, Unnao, Gorakhpur and Lucknow.
