Court stamps on declaring former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh as a fugitive in a recovery case.
A Mumbai court has given its approval for declaring former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh as a fugitive.
Public Prosecutor Shekhar Jagtap told that the court has accepted the application of Mumbai Police to declare former Police Commissioner Parambir Singh as a proclaimed offender.
This was demanded by the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police, which is probing the cases.
Mumbai Crime Branch had initiated the process of declaring Parambir Singh as a fugitive accused in the recovery case registered against him and others at a police station in suburban Goregaon.
The public prosecutor says that this step has been taken because, despite the issuance of non-bailable warrants, there is no trace of Parambir Singh.
Court stamps on declaring Parambir Singh as a fugitive: It is known that this case has been registered on the complaint of a person.
The complainant claims that the accused took nine lakh rupees in return for not raiding his restaurant twice from January last year to March 2021. Also forced to buy two smartphones worth Rs 2.92 lakh.
According to the public prosecutor, this decision of the court will help the investigating agencies to find Parambir Singh.
It may be mentioned that a magistrate court in Mumbai has also issued a non-bailable warrant against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh in a case of extortion.
Other courts have also issued non-bailable warrants in two other cases of extortion registered in Mumbai’s Goregaon and Thane districts.
According to the report of the news agency, so far three non-bailable warrants have been issued against Parambir Singh.
Let us tell you that on July 22 this year, a complaint was filed with the Marine Drive police station by Shyamsunder Agarwal, on the basis of which a case of extortion was filed against Singh and seven others.
Parambir Singh and seven others are named in the case. Five police officers are among the accused. A non-bailable warrant was issued by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate RM Nerlikar.
