CM Shinde’s Important Meeting With Home Minister Amit Shah

CM Shinde’s important meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah amid discussions of cabinet expansion in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah here on Friday after the formation of the new government in the state.

This meeting took place in the midst of discussions on the expansion of the Council of Ministers in the state. Eknath Shinde and Fadnavis reached Delhi late on Friday evening.

He is also scheduled to meet President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and BJP President JP Nadda.

After reaching the capital, both the leaders reached Maharashtra Sadan. The news agency quoted sources as saying that first Devendra Fadnavis reached the residence of Home Minister Amit Shah.

After some time Shinde went there. The discussions with Amit Shah are believed to have centered around the power-sharing formula with the Shinde faction of the BJP and Shiv Sena.

Amit Shah wrote on Twitter, “I am confident that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, both of you will faithfully serve the people and take Maharashtra to new heights of development.”

This visit of Eknath Shinde and Fadnavis to Delhi is taking place at a time when SC is going to have an important hearing on July 11 on the demand for disqualification of Shinde and 15 MLAs of his faction.

This petition has been filed on behalf of the Shiv Sena faction led by Uddhav Thackeray.

When asked about this, Eknath Shinde told reporters, “We have full faith in the judiciary.” The Speaker of the Assembly has also given us recognition.

Shinde was sworn in as Chief Minister on June 30 with the support of the BJP.

Before that, he had revolted against Uddhav Thackeray, due to which the Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by Thackeray fell.

After that, the Eknath Shinde government won the trust vote in the assembly on 4 July.
