Smoke did not come out of Bamtul Bukhara, the British used to dodge.

Many revolutionaries laid down their lives to get the freedom with which we are breathing. On 23rd July, the birth anniversary of revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad, we tell about his pistol.

This pistol, which once adorned the State Museum of Lucknow, is presently present in the museum of Prayagraj.

Lucknow State Museum director Dr. AK Singh said that there was no smoke after Azad’s pistol was fired. Because of this, the British could not find out from behind the trees where the bullet was fired.

The pistol was made in 1903 by the Colts Manufacturing Company, which made the American firearm.

Which is now known as Colt Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company. Point 32 bore pistol was hammerless semi-automatic. It used to have a magazine of eight bullets.

It does not emit smoke after firing, which facilitated the martyr Chandrashekhar Azad to take a front from the British.

Azad used to aim and shoot from the cover of trees. Due to no smoke coming out of the pistol, the British officers and soldiers could not know when they were behind which tree.

Azad named this pistol as Bamtul Bukhara. In 1976, it was moved from Lucknow to Prayagraj Museum.
