Central Home Minister Amit Shah Counters TMC’s Move

Central Home Minister Amit Shah trembles at Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s move.

In Bengal, the political parties have generally come to the electoral fray keeping issues like good governance – misrule, development, atrocities, violence, injustice, corruption, and communalism at the center.

But this time the situation has changed and like Bihar-Uttar Pradesh, trying to win electoral bets by applying caste equations.

While the Trinamool Congress has moved away from the communities like Matua, Adivasi, Rajvanshi, Bauri, and Bagdi, in an attempt to help Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee through populist declarations, BJP leaders are also trying to woo these communities.

To bring the Rajwanshi and Matua community into their fold, Mamata is trying to win their hearts by saying her economic and social development, then the BJP is doing the same.

Mamta has declared a government holiday on the birth anniversary of the revered chiefs of these communities. Several announcements were made in his names, such as the name of the cultural board, colleges, and universities so that he could get votes in the elections.

But last week, BJP’s strong leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a public meeting in the stronghold of the dynasties and the Matua community, and the announcement of the announcements is considered to be shaken on Mamta’s shoulder.

The Rajvanshi and Matua communities have such a population in Bengal that if both are combined, they have influence in about 90 assembly seats in the state.

Till the 2016 assembly elections, Trinamool Congress was getting votes of these communities. But in the last Lok Sabha election, the Rajvanshi and Matua votes slowly drifted towards the BJP.

As a result, the Trinamool account could not be opened even in the flat areas of Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Uttar Dinajpur, Malda, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling in North Bengal with the influence of the Rajvanshi community.

On the other hand, seats like Matgaon-influenced South Bengal’s Bangaon and Ranaghat Lok Sabha seats also went to BJP.

This is the reason why Mamta visited North Bengal several times in the last two years and made several announcements for the dynasties one after the other.

Talked about setting up a Junglemahal police battalion in Narayani and tribal areas in Cooch Behar, Bagdi-Baudi with Rs five crore each, and Matua Cultural Board with Rs 10 crore.

From dynasties to Matua, Adivasi, Bagdi, and Bauri communities, Mamata had made every effort to address them. But in a single stroke, Amit Shah turned on Mamta’s strategy.

Central Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the people at the historic Rasmela Maidan in Coochbehar district and made big announcements for the Rajvanshi community.

He named the Central Armed Police Force Training Center of the Eastern Zone named after Chila Roy, younger brother of Raja Nara Narayan of the Cooch Behar Empire, in the name of the Narayani army of dynasties who stopped the Mughals in Cooch Behar.

Soon after coming to power in Bengal, he announced the establishment of his price at Rajvanshi Cultural Center, Tourist Center, and Panchanan Varma Memorial Center at a cost of Rs 250 crore.

In fact, the Rajvanshi community wants the National Civil Register (NRC) to evacuate the intruders living there. This is the main reason that the BJP got the vote of the dynasties in the last Lok Sabha election.

There is also the influence of the royalty community in some districts of Assam adjacent to it including North Bengal. There is also an election in Assam. In such a situation, Shah has tried to hit many targets with one stone.

At the same time, Mamta tried to attract the attention of Mamta like refugees by giving them land pattas, ration cards, and all other government facilities.

He spoke of implementing the amended Citizenship Act (CAA) to give citizenship to the Matua community, and also assured that soon after the formation of the BJP government in Bengal.

The Chief Minister’s Refugee Welfare Scheme, pension for Matua Samaj elders, scholarship for youth, And will implement other schemes also.

Also, Thakurnagar railway station will be named Shridham Thakurnagar. It will be developed as a tourist site by the Center.
