In the war against the Corona epidemic, the clock that the world is eagerly waiting for, including India, is probably coming now.

Although no official announcement has been made about it, there are some indications from the Central govt that it seems that the corona vaccine may come soon. The central government has asked states to prepare for corona vaccination.

All states and union territories have been asked to form committees for coordination and monitoring at the district level.

Campaign can run for one year

The Union Health Ministry has said that the vaccination campaign can last for at least one year. The group will be vaccinated on a priority basis. First, health workers such as doctors, nurses will be vaccinated.

It has been recommended to form coordination committees at the district level for taking the vaccine from cold chain to remote and complex areas.

Letter to states

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written a letter in this regard to all states and union territories on 26 October.

In it, he suggested to set up the State Steering Committee (SSC) led by the Chief Secretary, the State Task Force (STF) led by the Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary (Health) and the District Task Force (TDF) headed by the District Magistrates.

SSC will hold a meeting in a month

He has also attached annexure to the letter, which describes what these committees have to do. It also states that SSC will hold at least one meeting in a month. Similarly, the STF will meet every 15 days and the DTF will meet every week.

Plan preparation instructions

Bhushan asked the states to identify internet media and other platforms through which the vaccine could be propagated, which could have an impact on immunization in communities.

The SSC has also been asked to prepare an incentive scheme to award better performing districts, blocks and urban wards in the vaccination campaign.

SSC Responsibility

SSC will ensure active participation of all concerned departments to increase public participation in vaccination. This committee will also make such a system, which minimizes disruptions in other health services.

Will also develop a mechanism to prevent potential misinformation by vaccination.

STF work

The STF’s job is to arrange for the availability of the corona vaccine. For this, STF will also be responsible for the operations related to money. STF will identify such people for vaccination, so that there is no hindrance in other vaccination work.

DTF Responsibility

The DTF will prepare data for those who have been vaccinated. The corona vaccination will ensure all kinds of training to the human resource formed on the beneficiary management system.

The micro to communication scheme, cold chain and vaccine logistics scheme will also form DTF.
