Captain Amarinder Singh Reaches Delhi, To Meet BJP Leaders

Captain Amarinder Singh reaches Delhi, will discuss alliance and seat-sharing with BJP leaders.

Former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has reached Delhi to finalize the alliance of Bharatiya Janata Party and Punjab Lok Congress Party.

He will remain in Delhi for the next three days and will meet senior BJP leaders.

The seat-sharing talks between the two parties are mainly to be held, as the Captain has started building up the organizational structure of his party at the district level.

In such a situation, after the picture is clear about the seats, both parties can put emphasis on their respective areas.

It is being told that Captain will first meet with the BJP’s Union Jal Shakti Minister and BJP’s election in-charge in Punjab Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

Only after this meeting, he will have a meeting with BJP National President JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

However, it is not yet clear whether the picture will be clear about the seats during this visit of the Captain to Delhi.

So far it is believed that the BJP wants to contest 70 seats in Punjab, while 35 seats will be left for Captain’s party.

Captain Amarinder Singh reaches Delhi: Since this is the first election of Captain’s Punjab Lok Congress Party.

Therefore, the party structure has not yet been formed at the lower level and the remaining 12 seats will be left for Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa’s party.

However, the picture will not be clear until the Captain holds a meeting with senior BJP leaders. At the same time, sources close to the Captain tell that now the Election Commission team has visited.

This indicates that the code of conduct will be implemented in the first or second week of January.

Therefore, now there is no justification for delaying the alliance further because after the picture is clear about the alliance and seats, both the parties can insist on their respective assembly constituencies.

At the same time, BJP may be an established party in Punjab, but this is the first time that it is trying to contest elections in the whole of Punjab.

The BJP has never contested more than 23 seats while being in alliance with the Akali Dal.

The BJP may pay the price for having its organizational structure in the whole of Punjab, but there are many such assembly constituencies in Malwa where the BJP structure is there, but the base is not there.

At the same time, even though the farmers’ movement has ended, but there is still a tightrope in the minds of the farmers. In such a situation, more focus of BJP is on urban areas only.

Where the impact of the peasant movement was either small or non-existent. At the same time, even though the Captain has left the Congress, but he still has strength in urban and rural areas.
