BJP released list of nine candidates for UP and Uttarakhand, see who got a chance: Rajya Sabha Election. The BJP has released list of nine candidates for the 11 seats in Rajya Sabha.
Elections are to be held on November 9 for 10 seats from Uttar Pradesh and one seat of Rajya Sabha from Uttarakhand. The party has re-nominated Union ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Arun Singh, and Neeraj Shekhar.
All three are still Rajya Sabha members from Uttar Pradesh. Apart from these, BJP has fielded candidates from Haridwar Dubey, Brijlal, Geeta Shakya, BL Verma, and Seema Trivedi from Uttar Pradesh. The BJP has declared Naresh Bansal as the candidate for a seat in Rajya Sabha from Uttarakhand.
The equation will change in the Upper House of Parliament after elections on 11 seats of Rajya Sabha. The BJP is likely to get most of the seats. The Samajwadi Party can win only one seat according to the party’s position in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
The SP is again sending Ram Gopal Yadav to the Rajya Sabha. Apart from this, if the opposition field a joint candidate then it is likely to win. But it does not look like this at the moment. In such a situation, the BJP is likely to win nine seats from Uttar Pradesh.
BJP’s victory is also on the only seat in Uttarakhand. After this election, the BJP will come closer to a majority in the Rajya Sabha. The term of 10 Rajya Sabha MPs from Uttar Pradesh is going to end in the coming November.
These leaders include BJP’s Arun Singh, Neeraj Shekhar, Hardeep Singh Puri, Samajwadi Party’s Javed Ali Khan, Ram Gopal Yadav, Chandrapal Singh Yadav, Ravi Prakash Verma, BSP’s Rajaram, Veer Singh, Congress’s PL Punia.
Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Ramji Gautam filed his nomination papers on Monday for the elections to ten seats of Rajya Sabha in Uttar Pradesh.
During this period, all 18 BSP MLAs were present, including the party’s national general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra and Legislature Party leader Lalji Verma. Samajwadi Party gave Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav was declared his candidate. He has also filed his nomination.
It is worth mentioning that the Election Commission announced the Rajya Sabha election from Uttar Pradesh on 13 October. Election notification has been issued on 20 October. Nominations will be filled by 27 October.
The nomination papers will be scrutinized on 28 October. The withdrawal date is November 2. Voting will be held from 9 am to 4 pm on November 9 and counting will take place from 5 pm on the same day and the results will be released.
