Bill Passed In Karnataka Assembly To Increase The Salary Of MLAs

Bill passed in Karnataka Assembly to increase the salary of CM, Ministers, and MLAs.Tuesday was a tumultuous day in the Karnataka Assembly.

Bills increasing the salaries and allowances of the Chief Minister, Ministers, and MLAs were passed in the Assembly.

Congress MLAs protested fiercely, demanding the sacking of minister KS Eshwarappa for his statement on the national flag.

Due to this, for the fifth consecutive day, the session was shortened due to disruption in the assembly. But before this two important bills were passed without discussion.

The session that started on February 14 was scheduled to end on February 25. Now it has been postponed till March 4 for the budget session.

Congress MLAs have been protesting ‘day-night’, for which they spent the night inside the assembly and during the day from the Well of the House, disrupting the proceedings. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has termed the incident irresponsible.

Amid the uproar on Tuesday, the House passed two bills.

This includes the Karnataka Minister’s Salary and Allowances (Amendment) Bill, 2022, and the Karnataka Legislature Salary, Pension, and Allowances (Amendment) Bill, 2022.

The bills were introduced by the government saying that they are long pending.

Now the salary of ministers increased from Rs 40,000 to Rs 60,000.

After the passage of this bill, now in the Bill on Salaries and Allowances of Ministers, the salary of the Chief Minister has been increased from Rs. It is proposed to make Rs.

Maintenance of gardens increased from Rs 20,000 per month to Rs 30,000

It also proposes to increase the house rent allowance of ministers from Rs 80,000 per month to Rs 1.20 lakh, while the allowance for maintenance and layout of the house is also proposed.

The maintenance of gardens has been increased from Rs 20,000 per month to Rs 30,000.

Along with this, their petrol cost has been increased from one thousand to two thousand liters by the government. Visiting allowance of ministers has been increased to Rs 2,500 per day.
