BCCI can take a big decision, Corona’s shadow on West Indies’ India tour. Corona cases are increasing rapidly in the country due to the Omicron variant.

Due to this, the West Indies cricket team’s tour of India has become a cloud of crisis.

The Caribbean team is to come to India in February for the White Ball series. During this, six matches are to be organized from 6 to 20 February at six places.

The first ODI match is to be held in Ahmedabad, followed by matches in Jaipur, Kolkata, Cuttack, Visakhapatnam, and Thiruvananthapuram.

BCCI can take a big decision: Meanwhile, the BCCI may consider reducing the venue due to the third wave of the pandemic and rapidly increasing cases in the country.

All matches can be played in one to two places to avoid too much travel and the risk of players getting infected.

Nothing has been finalized. Meanwhile, Cricket West Indies (CWI) has said that it is open to the idea of playing the entire series at limited venues.

West Indies team to reach Ahmedabad on 1 February.

CWI chief Ricky Skerritt said the request for such a change has not yet reached us. But we are ready to accept such a decision by the local boards keeping in view the health protocol.

According to information received from the BCCI, the West Indies team is going to reach Ahmedabad on February 1 and will have to go through a three-day isolation period till February 3.

The first match will take place on 6 February.

Earlier, due to the increasing cases of Corona, the BCCI postponed the Ranji Trophy, Col CK Nayudu Trophy, and Senior Women’s T20 League to the 2021/22 season and many domestic tournaments.

Players of this country will not play in Pakistan Super League, the board refused to give NOC.

South African players will not be able to participate in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) as Cricket South Africa has refused to give them a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to give priority to domestic tournaments.

Defending champions Multan Sultans will take on hosts and 2020 winners Karachi Kings in the opening match of the PSL on January 27.

Cricket South Africa’s director of cricket Graeme Smith said Proteas players need to be available for the national team keeping the upcoming tour in mind.
