Bathukamma, the festival of Telangana reaches Dubai, Burj Khalifa bathed in colorful lights.
The traditional festival of Telangana’s Bathukamma (Bathukamma, flower festival) has become a global phenomenon.
In fact, on Saturday, Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building in Dubai, lit up with lights of different colors. This effort was made by Kalvakuntla Kavitha, MLC of Nizamabad.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter Kavita leads the organization called Telangana Jagriti and has taken this step to bring the state’s culture to the global level.
This organization works to spread cultural awareness in Telangana. Kavita has shared a glimpse of all this on her Twitter handle.
This year’s Bathukamma is unique. The organization has also released a song that was composed by none other than composer A.K. R. Rahman has prepared.
According to a release issued by Kavita’s office, the song has been shot in the districts of Telangana and produced by Kavita’s organization ‘Telangana Jagriti’.
This organization works to spread cultural awareness in Telangana.
The song is penned by Mittapalli Surender and sung by Uttara Unnikrishnan, while the choreography is by National Award winner Brinda.
Adequate arrangements were made by Telangana Jagriti to show the Bathukamma documentary on the big screen.
In this screening, map of India, map of Telangana Chief Minister KCR, Bathukamma flower, and song composed by AR Rahman were played in the background. Slogans of Jai Hind, Jai Telangana, and Jai KCR were raised.
Reservation for OBC cannot be the subject of frequent controversy, DMK argued in Supreme Court.
The ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu has told the Supreme Court that the state’s 27 percent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the All India Quota in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) cannot be subject to repeated judicial disputes.
The DMK said the court has already resolved the issue. Tamil Nadu government told the Supreme Court that by notification dated July 29, 2020.
The All India Quota under States Contributed Seats (SCS-AIQ) in 15 percent of graduates, 10 percent for Economically Weaker Sections, and 27 for OBCs The Center has rectified the 13-year-old discrepancy for OBCs by implementing percentage reservation.
