Bank of Baroda started WhatsApp banking service, ICICI Bank has also given this gift to its customers.
Public sector Bank of Baroda (BOB) has announced the launch of banking services on the messaging platform WhatsApp.
Bank of Baroda is providing services such as account balance information, mini statement.
Check status information, checkbook request, blocking debit cord and information about products and services through WhatsApp.
Bank executive director AK Khurana said in a statement, “Amid the growing influence of social media, we believe that through WhatsApp banking.
Customers will get a lot of convenience and will be able to meet their banking needs.”
Banking services will be available round the clock, seven days a day, through a messaging platform. There is no need to download additional applications for this.
Such people, who are not customers of the bank, can also get information about the bank’s products, services, offerings, ATMs and branches through the platform.
Significantly, the private sector ICICI Bank had announced the extension of services offered through the messaging app WhatsApp.
The bank had said that its customers can get fixed deposits (FD) through WhatsApp, pay utility bills and access trade finance details instantly.
In a press release issued by ICICI Bank, it was claimed that it has become the first bank in the industry to provide these services through WhatsApp.
The bank has stated that with these new services the number of banking services offered to customers through WhatsApp has reached 25.

Now send ‘Hi’ to the WhatsApp number of the bank from your registered mobile number. After this, a list of services available from the bank will be received.
From the list of services, type ‘keyword’ according to your need and reply. After that, you will be able to take advantage of that service immediately.
Customers will be able to make Fixed Deposit on WhatsApp immediately. It is known that the bank had introduced many facilities through WhatsApp about eight months ago.
Under these services, customers can check account balance and information related to the last three transactions. You can get credit card limit information. Credit/debit cards can be blocked.
