The next edition of the country’s premier automobile shows Auto Expo will be held from January 13-18 next year. The show has been canceled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The final edition of the biennial automobile show took place in February 2020 amid fears of the spread of the coronavirus across the world.

It was scheduled to take place in Greater Noida in February this year but was postponed due to the deteriorating COVID-19 situation.

What is Automobile Show Auto Expo?

Auto Expo is an event held once every two years. It is generally held in February. It gives OEMs a platform to showcase new products and technologies.

Thousands of people participate in this program. The last time the event was held was in 2020 when the threat of a pandemic was emerging in the country and the world.

Auto Expo 2020 saw a total of over 6 lakh visitors. Around 70 product launches and unveilings took place at the country’s leading auto shows. 108 exhibitors displayed 352 products.

Rajesh Menon, Director General, Society of Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), informed that Motor Show (Auto Expo) has been confirmed from 13-18 January 2023 at India Expo Mart Greater Noida.

January 11 will be exclusively for the media. It will be inaugurated on January 12.

While the Auto Expo will be held in Greater Noida, on the other hand, the Auto Component Show will be held at the new Pragati Maidan complex.

In a statement released in August last year, Menon had mentioned that business-to-consumer (B2C) shows such as the Auto Expo are at high risk of infection.

Therefore it has been decided to postpone the Auto Expo – Motor Show for now.

Let us tell you that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and fears of a possible third wave, there could be a lot of problems in organizing the Auto Expo, in view of which it was postponed.

However, in the last few months, the situation of Covid-19 across the country has improved a lot, in view of which the show can be organized till January 2023.
