Ashwin Scored The 12th Half-century Of His Career

Ashwin scored the 12th half-century of his career, India’s score near 450.

The second day of the first match of the two-match Test series between India and Sri Lanka is underway in Mohali. Ravindra Jadeja has completed the 18th half-century of his career.

Till the time of writing the news, India has scored 446 runs for 6 wickets. Ashwin has completed the 12th half-century of his career. Ravindra Jadeja is currently at the crease scoring 90 and Ashwin 55.

The team had scored 357 runs for the loss of 6 wickets till the end of the team game on the first day.

Rishabh Pant’s 96-run knock and Hanuma Vihari’s 58-run knock were instrumental in taking India to this strong position.

Apart from this, Virat Kohli also scored 45 runs in the first innings of his 100th Test. On the second day of the match, India will now be eyeing to strengthen this score further.

Ashwin scored the 12th half-century: In India’s first innings, Rishabh Pant missed a century.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma along with Mayank Agarwal got India off to a good start and the duo shared a 52-run partnership for the first wicket.

However, this partnership was broken by Lahiru Kumara by dismissing Rohit Sharma for 29 runs.

Team India lost its second wicket in the form of Mayank Agarwal, who was dismissed leg before by Lasith Embuldeniya on the score of 33 runs.

Virat Kohli scored 45 runs in the first innings of his 100th Test match and was bowled by Ambuldeniya. Hanuma Vihari played an innings of 58 runs and he was dismissed by Vishwa Fernando.

India’s 5th wicket fell in the form of Shreyas Iyer, who was dismissed for 27 runs by de Silva. Rishabh Pant played a crucial inning of 96 runs and missed out on his fifth Test century by just 4 runs.

Rishabh Pant’s innings ended with the delivery of Suranga Lakmal and he was bowled by Pant.
