The second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic in the Supreme Court on Thursday heard the case of migrant laborers facing an economic crisis.

Expressing concern over the situation of migrant laborers following the declaration of lockdown in various states of the country due to the Corona epidemic.

The Apex court said that it will issue orders to ensure food security and cheap transport options for them.

A bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan and MR Shah heard the case. The court has sought information from Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh in the case.

At the same time, the court asked the central and state governments for arrangement of food and ration for them and provide facilities for the people returning to their homes so that they can go home comfortably.

The court expressed concern over the situation of migrant laborers in the country and asked the state governments to respond within a week to the schemes launched for them.

The court questioned the central government about the migrant laborers because of the closure and lockdown due to the corona epidemic that has rendered them impoverished, they have neither employment nor money.

They must have some means of earning to eat.
