Andhra Pradesh Government Has Banned Public Meetings And Rallies On Roads

Andhra Pradesh government has banned public meetings and rallies on roads, including national highways, citing public safety.

The BJP issued a scathing commentary on the government of Jagan Mohan Reddy, saying the party had the right to assemble.

The government has taken this decision on the basis of the recent incident of the death of 8 people in a political party meeting in Nellore.

According to the news agency, the government implemented this order on the late night of January 1 under the provisions of the Prohibitory Order Police Act, of 1861.

The state government had issued a government order banning public meetings.

Political parties have the right to hold rallies: BJP.

On Tuesday, the BJP expressed objection to this decision of the Andhra Pradesh government. The BJP has called this decision strange.

Criticizing the Andhra Pradesh government, the BJP said that political parties have the right to hold rallies.

BJP general secretary S Vishnuvardhan Reddy said that the Andhra Pradesh government took a strange decision to ban any opposition party from coming out on the streets against the government.

He further said that it would have been better if the YSR Congress Party had ordered another political party to hold the meeting.

However, he said that action should be taken against those who do something wrong during the party meeting.

The YSR Congress Party government has banned holding public meetings and rallies on roads, including national highways, citing public safety.

What is a Government Order?

“The right to hold public assemblies on roads and public streets are governed by section 30 of the Police Act 1861,” the government said in its ruling.

Under the government order, Home Secretary Harish Kumar Gupta instructed the relevant local administrations and police to “determine public gathering places away from public roads to avoid traffic.

The movement of people, movement of emergency services, movement of essentials, should not be included in the order.
