Andhra Pradesh exported 16,000 metric tonnes of mangoes through 30 Kisan trains. 16,000 metric tonnes of mangoes have been exported to Andhra Pradesh through 30 Kisan trains.

Poonam Malakondaiah said on Saturday that 16,000 metric tonnes of mangoes were exported from Andhra Pradesh through 30 Kisan trains during the current mango season.

He said that a remunerative price is being given for every crop. Besides this, godowns and cold storage units are being built, he said.

In Chittoor, 30 percent of the mango crop will be produced by the end of July.

Poonam Malakondaiah said that the Rythu Bharosa Kendras set up to help the farmers are yielding good results, due to which the farmers are getting remunerative prices for their produce.

This year 14 lakh metric tonnes of mangoes were produced in the current mango season. The government has provided a marketing facility for 70 percent of the produce.

Each kilogram of mango is sold at the rate of Rs 9 to Rs 14.

He further informed that 16,000 metric tonnes of mangoes are exported to different parts of the country through 30 Kisan trains with the help of the Ministry of Railways.

In the Chittoor district, 30 percent of the mango crop will be produced by the end of July.

Poonam Malakondaiah also spoke on the question of farmers’ subsidy.

Along with this, Poonam Malakondaiah has also denied the allegations of withdrawal of subsidy for mango farmers this year.

He said that there has never been any such subsidy in the state. The previous government had intervened for a year, but that was not given to farmers but to processing units.

This year the best marketing has been provided to the farmers. Therefore, the question of subsidy does not arise.
