According to sources, Reddy elaborated on the reasons for the increase in the cost of the ongoing mega Polavaram irrigation project.

The project will be completed soon after getting the funds.

He said that the project can be completed quickly if funds are released from the central government without any delay.

Earlier, the estimated cost for the Polavaram irrigation project was Rs 35,000 crore, which aims to irrigate 2.91 lakh hectares, generate 960 MW of electricity and meet the water needs of industries and 540 villages in Andhra Pradesh.
