Alt News co-founder Mohammad Zubair, who was arrested for disturbing the country’s atmosphere with a controversial tweet, has approached the Supreme Court seeking his bail.

Alt News co-founder Mohammad Zubair’s bail plea will be heard in the Supreme Court on Friday.

A case has been registered against Zubair in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly inciting religious sentiments. A vacation bench of Justices Indira Banerjee and JK Maheshwari said on Thursday that the matter has been listed for hearing on Friday.

However, it is yet to be considered by the Chief Justice of India.

Senior advocate Colin Gonsalves, appearing for Zubair, said that the Allahabad Court had rejected the anticipatory bail plea.

“Zubair’s life is in danger as threats are being received from people,” the advocate said. He requested the Supreme Court to list the matter immediately.

An FIR was registered against Zubair in Uttar Pradesh under Section 295A of the IPC and Section 67 of the IT Act. Let us inform you that on June 1, a complaint was made against Zubair.

On June 27, Zubair was arrested by the Delhi Police. Let us inform you that crores of rupees have been deposited in Zubair’s bank account during the last few months.

Zubair has given an explanation for receiving the said amount in charity, but the police suspect that the said amount was given to him for the purpose of fueling anti-national activities.

Mohammad Zubair appeared in the magistrate court of Sitapur, accused of hurting religious sentiments.

Mohammad Zubair, the co-founder of a channel that had abusively abused Mahant Bajrang Muni of Khairabad Badi Sangat, appeared in Sitapur court on Thursday.

Delhi Police had also come to Sitapur with Zuber two days ago. He was taken back after being produced in the Court of Judicial Magistrate-I. Zubair was brought to Sitapur on Thursday morning at 10.50 am.

Khairabad Police Station Arvind Singh told that co-founder Mohd. Zubair has been produced in court. The production will take place in the Court of Judicial Magistrates.

Police had filed a warrant: Khairabad police had filed a warrant against Zubair in court. Only after this, did he appear in court on Monday.

The police had also made his remand. On Thursday, Mohammad Zubair was again produced in court.

Case registered on Zubair in Khairabad: Bhagwan Sharan, District President of Hindu Sher Sena, referred to Mohammad Zubair’s tweet in the Tahrir at Khairabad police station on June 1, in which he had commented on Mahant Bajrang Muni.

It was told that Mohammad Zubair has no dispute with Mahant Bajrang Muni. There is no litigation of any kind.

With the aim of spreading hatred in society, an objectionable tweet has been made against Bajrang Muni of Badi Sangat, a religious place symbolizing the faith of all of us.
