Abhishek Banerjee Summoned By ED In Money Laundering Case

Abhishek Banerjee summoned by the ED in the money laundering case.

Mamta Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee reached the Enforcement Directorate, was summoned in the coal smuggling case

Abhishek Banerjee, the nephew of Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has reached the Enforcement Directorate office on Monday.

He was summoned by the ED in the money laundering case related to coal smuggling. Summons were also issued to his wife Rujira Banerjee but she refused to come to Delhi citing Corona.

Talking to reporters, Abhishek said that I have come here because I was summoned by the agency. He has said that he will cooperate with the agency in the investigation.

Sources say that Abhishek will go to the ED office and answer the questions of the officials.

Speaking to reporters at the Kolkata airport before leaving for Delhi on Sunday, Abhishek had alleged that the BJP was doing this out of political vendetta after losing the assembly elections.

He said that during the public meetings in November, I am repeating what I had said that if any central agency proves my involvement in any transaction or corruption even of 10 paise.

Then there is no need for CBI or ED investigation, I will hang myself in public.

At the same time, TMC has also accused the BJP of taking such action against Abhishek Banerjee out of political vendetta, but Trinamool MPs will follow the law.

Suvendu officer will not appear before CID in the bodyguard’s suspicious death case.

Leader of Opposition in Bengal Assembly and BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari will not appear before the CID today in connection with the suspicious death of his bodyguard Shubhbrata Chakraborty.

The state’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has called the officer for questioning at around 11 am today at the Bhavani Bhavan headquarters in Kolkata.

According to BJP leaders, the Leader of an Opposition official is scheduled to address an organizational meeting at 3 pm in Bankura, about 180 km from Kolkata.

Sources say that the officer has informed the CID through e-mail that he will not be able to appear today. He also referred to the matter being pending in the High Court.

It is noteworthy that a day earlier, Suvendu had said that the state government was trying to intimidate him every day. He said that I am not afraid.
