Bengaluru Riot Case: Man Arrested For Giving Shelter To Accused. Riyazuddin Arrested for giving shelter to the accused in the Bengaluru riot case was absconding for several weeks.
Bengaluru’s Central Crime Branch Police has arrested a person who is a close aide of former Mayor R. Sampath Kumar, who had given shelter to Zakir, accused in the Bangalore riots case.
The accused have been absconding for the past few weeks. Police have filed a charge sheet against them. Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil said that Riyazuddin has been arrested in this case.
He is accused of harboring the accused Raj and Zakir. The two were hiding at Riyazuddin’s house for a few days before fleeing to Bengaluru.
Riyazuddin was a henchman of Congress leaders Raj and Zakir. Riyazuddin is the only way to reach these two. That is why the police arrested him after keeping an eye on him for about two weeks.

Kerala Gold Smuggling: Customs officers rushed to jail to interrogate M Shivshankar
Customs department officials reached Ernakulam District Prison to interrogate M Shivshankar, former Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Kerala.
He is charged in the money laundering case related to the famous gold smuggling case. Shivshankar has been jailed in judicial custody till 26 November in a smuggling case involving diplomatic channels.
On the other hand, Shivshankar in an affidavit submitted to the Principal Sessions Court on Monday said that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had pressurized him to name some political people of his own accord.
He is implicated and arrested in the array as accused of refusing to do so.
The ED has said in an official message that the role of Shiv Shankar came up in the course of the investigation into the money laundering.
The affidavit submitted by Shivshankar’s lawyer said, “In a very shocking and unethical manner.
The ED has changed the entire statement pertaining to the result of the crime in its application for extension of custody on November 5.”
The ED has said that M Shivshankar is involved in the bribery case taken by Swapna Suresh and others. The ED has distanced itself from disclosing the actual role of the person who filed the bail application.
