Just before Ram Navami, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Congress had rejected the invitation for the consecration ceremony of the idol of Ram Lalla in the newly constructed temple in Ayodhya to tap the vote bank.

In an exclusive interview with the leading news agency, he also attacked the opposition’s allegations ranging from Sanatan to electoral bonds and questioned the action of ED.

He also asked the Congress what was the compulsion that it allied with the DMK which spews hatred and venom against Sanatan Dharma.

Prime Minister Modi said that the Ram Mandir issue could have been resolved at the time of partition of the country, after which the matter could have been settled in the court, but this issue was used as a political weapon to appease the vote bank.

Congress should have been proud that those who fought for the temple had forgotten all its sins and invited it, but the vote bank made it helpless and it rejected the invitation.

Modi said that when the Constitution was made, the painting on every page of it was related to Sanatan tradition. Sanatan was a part of the government in that constitution.

Today if someone dares to abuse Sanatan and you do politics with him then it is a matter of concern for the country.

Who donated to political parties?

Regarding the electoral bond scheme canceled by the Supreme Court, the Prime Minister said that the opposition is spreading lies about it.

This scheme should be seen as a success story because due to this scheme, it was possible to know who donated to political parties. We never said that there was no flaw in decision-making.

There was a lot of scope for improvement in this also. But now the country has been completely pushed into the era of black money in elections.

Whenever this matter is thought of honestly, everyone will regret it.

Modi said that out of the 16 companies that had donated after the action by the investigating agencies, only 37 percent of the donations were received by the BJP and 63 percent by the parties opposing the BJP.

PM Modi’s Exclusive: What did the PM say about electoral bonds?

The Prime Minister said that when the Bill related to the Electoral Bond Scheme was passed in Parliament, some of the people who commented on it today supported it.

Referring to the decision to demonetize Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,000 notes, he said these notes were carried in large quantities during the elections.

The Prime Minister said that only three percent of the cases registered by the ED are against politicians and 97 percent of the cases are against people or companies who have nothing to do with politics.

He said that before 2014, ED had seized assets worth only Rs 5,000 crore, but during his tenure, assets worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore have been seized.

The Prime Minister said that an honest person has no fear, but those involved in corruption fear their sins.

Corruption has destroyed the country and has to be dealt with with full force. This is his commitment.
