At 10:08 am, the Sensex was down 244.16 points to trade at 49,340.00. Talking about the major stocks of Friday, HDFC Bank, Coal India, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, Finserv shares opened on the green mark during the initial trading today.

At the same time, shares of Adani Ports, Shree Cement, Grasim, BPCL opened on the red mark. All sectors except IT, Finance Services and Bank opened on the green mark in the sectoral index today.

Sensex breaks over 200 points: The Sensex opened 76.91 points down at 49,415.41 on the previous trading day. At the same time, the Nifty opened at 14,552.70 level, weakening by 12.20 points.

The rupee strengthened 11 paise to 73.04 per dollar on Thursday in the interbank currency market. The rupee opened at 73.18 per dollar. During trading, the rupee touched a high of 72.97 per dollar and a low of 73.18 per dollar.

It gained 11 paise to close at 73.04 per dollar from the previous day. Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) were net buyers in the capital market. Meanwhile, the international crude benchmark Brent crude futures fell 0.21 percent to $ 55.94 a barrel.
