2023 Asia Cup: Why Team India Should Visit Pakistan? Shahid Afridi Told The Important Reason

2023 Asia Cup: Why Team India should visit Pakistan? The former veteran captain told the important reason.

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has urged the Indian team to tour Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 as the first step to improving the bilateral series.

Afridi recalled how both the teams had treated each other with respect on previous tours.

Let us tell you that Pakistan has been made the official host for Asia Cup 2023, but BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said last year that the Indian team will not tour the neighboring country.

Jay Shah also demanded a neutral venue for the 2023 Asia Cup. At the same time, the Pakistan Cricket Board had threatened to boycott the 2023 World Cup, which is to be held in India in October.

Speaking to the media in Doha, Shahid Afridi said, “It will be great if India comes. It will be India’s first step towards cricket and Pakistan. This is not a generation of war or fighting. We want better relations.”

Cricket will get better.

The last time the Indian team visited Pakistan was in 2008 for the Asian Cup. The final time India performed a bilateral collection in Pakistan turned in 2006.

Meanwhile, the last bilateral series between the two countries was played in India in 2012–13. Pakistan made the last tour to India for the 2016 T20 World Cup.

According to Shahid Afridi, both teams can help each other through cricket. He has a good relationship with the Indian players. Suresh Raina recently gifted his cane to Afridi.

The former Pakistan captain said: “What can we do when we have to be friends with someone they don’t even tell us?”

There is no doubt that BCCI is a very solid board. But when you are strong, your responsibility is greater.

Afridi added: “The reality is we in no way communicate with every other. Communication is the most important. That’s what politicians do, they say, if you don’t sit together, nothing good will come of it.”

“If India visits Pakistan It will be better for both countries. We and our government want a better relationship between us.”
