Women’s trinity reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon for the first time, Daniil Medvedev was eliminated.
Ashleigh Barty, Aryna Sabalenka, and Karolina Pliskova will play their first-ever Wimbledon semi-finals.
While former champion Angelique Kerber has reached the last four of the tournament for the fourth time.
All four players cleared their way on Tuesday by winning their respective quarter-finals in straight sets.
Germany’s 25th seed Kerber took advantage of the mistakes of 19th seed Karolina Muchova to register a 6-2, 6-3 win. Kerber won the title here in 2018.
She made a spectacular comeback at Wimbledon after a first-round exit at the French Open. At the same time, top-seeded Australian player Barty easily defeated compatriot Alija Tomlanovic 6-1, 6-3.
Sabalenka, playing her first quarterfinal in a Grand Slam event, took an aggressive approach and defeated 21st seed Ons Jaber of Tunisia 6-4, 6-3.
On the other hand, eighth seed Pliskova defeated unseeded Swiss player Viktoria Golubic 6-2, 6-2. This is the third time that Pliskova of the Czech Republic has entered the last four of a Grand Slam event.
Prior to this, she had reached the semi-finals of the French Open in 2017 and the Australian Open in 2019.

In the men’s section, 14th seed Hubert Harkaz of Poland defeated second seed Daniil Medvedev in a five-set match to enter the quarter-finals of Wimbledon for the first time.
The match had to be stopped in the fourth set on Monday due to rain. Harkaaz, however, won the match 2-6, 7-6 (7-2), 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 after winning the fourth and fifth sets.
Harkaj made it to the last eight of a Grand Slam event for the first time.
In the men’s section, apart from Harkaj, players who made their first-ever Wimbledon quarter-finals include Denis Shapovalov of Canada, Matteo Berrettini of Italy, Marten Fuksovi of Hungary, and Karen Khachanov of Russia.
