He told that during the last two years, the Indian Army has signed two contracts for equipment worth Rs 40 thousand crores with indigenous companies only.

BS Raju inaugurated the exhibition of indigenous weapons on the second day of the two-day North Tech Symposium held at the Army’s Northern Command Headquarters in Udhampur

He said which weapon the army needs, and what technology it wants, for this, First of all, indigenous manufacturers and Indian companies will be contacted.

BS Raju said that now AON (Acceptance of Necessity) will be given only to indigenous manufacturers making military and defense equipment. Only Indian companies will get about 90 percent or more.

Various companies displayed their technology and products in the exhibition, which are capable of solving many challenges faced by the jawans in the operation area of ​​Northern Command.

The exhibition has also served to strengthen the dialogue coordination between the indigenous defense industry and the military.

Apart from this, 42 innovative equipment and techniques were displayed by military establishments. Special emphasis was placed on unmanned aircraft, drones, and drone defense systems.

While inspecting the equipment kept in the exhibition, the Deputy Chief of the Army said that we need all types of drones which can not only monitor but also carry goods and weapons from one place to another.

While acknowledging the delay in completing the formalities of procurement of equipment, he said that the process needs to be made more simple and more flexible.

On this occasion, Northern Command Chief Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi appreciated the efforts being made by indigenous companies to meet the requirements of the Army.
