Violence In The Tractor Rally: SC Refused To Hear The Petitions

Violence in the tractor rally:  the Supreme Court refused to hear the petitions on the violence in the tractor rally on January 26.

The Supreme Court has refused to hear petitions related to the violence that took place during the farmers’ tractor rally in Delhi on Republic Day (26 January).

The court has allowed the petitioners to register representation before the government. The court cited the statement of the Prime Minister in the media, which said that the law will do its job.

The court said that the government is investigating, in such a situation, we will not interfere now. The petitions demanded a commission to investigate the violence by constituting a commission of inquiry headed by a judge of the Supreme Court.

A bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde said that we are sure that the government is investigating it (violence). We have read in the press the statement made by the Prime Minister that the law will work.

This means that it is being investigated. At this stage, we do not want to interfere in it. The bench also consisted of Justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian.

Explain that in a petition by advocating Vishal Tiwari, a commission was constituted under the chairmanship of a retired Supreme Court judge and demanded an inquiry.

The court also refused to consider two other petitions related to the tractor rally violence and asked the petitioners to register representation before the government.

The Supreme Court also dismissed another public interest litigation seeking to direct the media not to declare farmers as ‘terrorists’ without any evidence.

Significantly, thousands of tractor rallies were organized by the farmers protesting against the new agricultural laws of the Center on Republic Day. During this time violence took place in Delhi.

The miscreants involved in the protest created a furore and hoisted the religious flag at the Red Fort. Farmers have been demonstrating on the borders of Delhi for more than two months.

They demand that all three agricultural laws be withdrawn. The Supreme Court has already stayed the implementation of all three laws.

Also, a panel has been formed to resolve the deadlock. Several rounds of talks have also taken place between the Center and the farmers, but no solution was found.
