Vice President Election: The election for the post of Vice President will be held on 6 August.

The Election Commission on Wednesday said that the election for the post of Vice President will be held on August 6.

The notification for the election of M Venkaiah Naidu’s successor will be issued on July 5. Nomination papers can be filed till July 19.

In such a situation, there is also news that the term of President of India Ram Nath Kovind is also being completed in July itself.

According to the Election Commission, the scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on July 20. Nominations can be withdrawn till July 22.

The counting of votes will also take place on August 6. Members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha participate in the election for the post of Vice-President.

It also includes nominated members. In the role of the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, the President conducts the House. The Vice President is a post whose responsibility is multilevel.

In the absence of the President of the country, the Vice President discharges the duties of the President. As the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, the Vice-President governs the Upper House for a full five years.

In such a situation, Naidu’s tenure is also being praised a lot. Last year, on the completion of four years of Naidu, the Vice President’s Secretariat released a booklet detailing his contribution.
