Varvara Rao is fit to be sent back to jail from hospital: NIA from High Court.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) told the Bombay High Court on Tuesday that poet and activist Varvara Rao.

Who was accused in a private hospital in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist relationship in Mumbai, returned to Taloja Jail in Navi Mumbai.

Fit to a great extent for sending. Rao’s wife Hemlata has filed a petition for his bail on the basis of health.

On which the next hearing is to be held on Monday, at least till then Rao will remain in Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai.

Rao’s lawyers requested for bail

Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Anil Singh, appearing for the NIA, stated this before the bench of Justice SS Shinde and Justice MS Karnik.

During the hearing on Tuesday, senior lawyers Indira Jaisingh and Anand Grover requested the High Court to grant bail to Rao.

Grover said that 81-year-old Rao has been facing many health problems since his arrest in 201.

He said that the administration of Taloja Jail in Navi Mumbai does not have the expertise or medical facilities for his treatment. Rao has been kept in the Taloja Jail as an undertrial prisoner.

Grover said that it would be even better for Rao’s health that he be granted bail and allowed to return to his home in Hyderabad. He said that Rao would not run if he was granted bail.

Acquitted in 24 cases

Grover told the court, ‘Rao has been prosecuted in 24 cases and it is no small matter that he has been acquitted in every case.

However, ASG Singh argued that Rao had applied for bail on medical grounds, so his lawyer should not cross-examine the basis of the case.
