Usman Khawaja Scored His Third Consecutive Century At Sydney Ground

Usman Khawaja scored his third consecutive century at Sydney ground, equaling the record of a veteran Indian batsman.

Australian opener Usman Khawaja continued his fine form on Thursday, scoring a century on the second day of the third Test against South Africa.

Khawaja has earned himself a place in an exclusive club by scoring his third consecutive century at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Usman Khawaja has become the fourth Australian and the seventh batsman in the world to score four or more centuries at Sydney.

The left-handed batsman opened the scoring on the second day with a score of 54*. He completed his hundred by taking two runs off Kagiso Rabada.

Khawaja completed his century in 206 balls with the help of 8 fours and a six. Khawaja became the fourth batsman to score three consecutive hundreds at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

In the Ashes series against England in Sydney, he scored centuries in both innings.

Earlier, the three players who scored three consecutive centuries in Sydney are Wally Hammond and Doug Walters, and India’s VVS Laxman.

Khawaja is the only Australian to average over 100 in at least five innings in Sydney. First volley Hammond (161.60) and India’s Sachin Tendulkar (157) average at this ground in Sydney.

Khawaja is the seventh player to have scored four or more Test centuries at the Sydney ground. The name of his opening partner David Warner is also included in this list.

Usman Khawaja remained unbeaten after scoring 195* on the second day. Stumps were declared due to rain.

Australia has scored 475 runs losing 4 wickets in 131 overs till the end of the day’s play on the basis of Khawaja’s innings. Matt Renshaw was frozen at the crease after scoring 5* with Khawaja.
