UP government withdrew notices against anti-CAA protesters, Supreme Court now asked to return the recovered amount.

The Uttar Pradesh government has filed its reply in the Supreme Court today in the CAA case.

The government told the court that it has withdrawn the compensation notice issued against those protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Along with this, the Supreme Court has also ordered to return the recovery made so far. However, the court has given the freedom to the UP government to take action under the new law.

Exemption of action under the new law.

During the hearing, the Supreme Court has given permission to the UP government to take action against the anti-CAA protesters under the new law ‘Uttar Pradesh Recovery of Damage to Public and Private Property Act.

UP government withdrew notices against anti-CAA protesters: The protesters had damaged government property.

Explain that during the anti-CAA agitation in the state against CAA, public properties were damaged by the protesters.

The state government, while responding in the Supreme Court, said that notices were sent to the alleged protesters to compensate for this loss.

In this case, Additional Advocate General of UP Government, Garima Prasad told the court that 106 FIRs were also registered against 833 rioters in the state.

During this, the state government, while taking action against the rioters, had put their photos as a poster in public places.

At the same time, the government had also issued notices to the rioters to compensate for the loss.

Hearing on hijab controversy continues in Karnataka High Court, court raises questions regarding state’s stand.

Hearing petitions challenging the ban on hijab in educational institutions of the state is still going on in the Karnataka High Court.

Senior advocate AM Dar has apprised the court that he has filed a fresh petition.

Keeping in view the objection of the court, this petition has been filed on behalf of five girl students. The petition will be heard in the court on February 21.
