Two Sikh Businessmen Were Killed In Broad Daylight In Pakistan

Two Sikh businessmen were killed in broad daylight in Pakistan, the incident took place in the disturbed province bordering Afghanistan: Sikh Murder in Pakistan.

Gunmen on Sunday shot dead two Sikh businessmen in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

This is a new case of targeting a minority community in the troubled province bordering Afghanistan.

Chief Minister Mehmood Khan condemned the attack and directed the police to arrest the killers without delay.

According to the police, the bike-borne killers attacked 42-year-old Daljit Singh and 38-year-old Ranjit Singh on Sunday morning. Both died on the spot.

They have spice shops at Bata Tal Bazar in Sarband, about 17 km from Peshawar. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the murder.

The Chief Minister said that this incident is a conspiracy to disturb the harmony in the province. Justice will be provided to the families of the two Sikh businessmen who were killed.

15 thousand Sikhs live in Peshawar.

About 15,000 Sikhs live in Peshawar. Most live in Jogan Shah, near the province’s capital, Peshawar.

Most of the Sikh community living in Peshawar do business, while some are also associated with pharmacy.

From Hakim to MP, murder has happened.

In September last year, a well-known Sikh Hakim (Greek doctor) was shot dead by gunmen inside his clinic in Peshawar.

In the year 2018, Charanjit Singh, a popular member of the Sikh community, was murdered in Peshawar.

Similarly, news channel anchor Ravinder Singh was murdered in the same city in the year 2020.

Earlier in the year 2016, a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was also murdered in Peshawar.

Hindus have the largest population among minorities.

According to the 2017 census, Hindus constitute the largest number of minorities in Pakistan.

After this, the Christian community comes at number two. Ahmadis, Sikhs, and Parsis also come under the minority community of Pakistan.
