‘PM Modi is a great Prime Minister of India, he is my good friend, ‘ Trump made a big statement on the tariff deal with India. US President Donald Trump referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “very smart man” and a “very good friend” on Friday, praising his leadership. Trump said that Prime Minister Modi had come here recently, and we have always been very good friends.
While answering questions from reporters at the swearing-in ceremony of New Jersey’s US Attorney Alina Hubba, Trump praised PM Modi and called him a great Prime Minister.
He also said that India is one of the countries imposing the highest tariffs in the world… they are very smart. He (PM Modi) is a very smart man and a very good friend of mine.
US President Donald Trump said that we had a very good conversation. I think everything will be fine between India and our country, and I want to say that you have a great Prime Minister. Donald Trump said that tariffs between India and America will give good results.
In a significant policy announcement from the Oval Office on Thursday, Trump announced a 25 per cent tariff on all imported vehicles entering the United States, which he described as a huge step for domestic manufacturing. The tariffs, which come into effect from April 2, will affect about half of the vehicles sold in the United States, including American brands assembled abroad.
US President Donald Trump had earlier targeted India, saying that India imposes the highest tariffs on the US and that it is a difficult place to do business. In February, US President Donald Trump announced that he would soon impose reciprocal tariffs on countries like India and China, asserting that the United States would also impose the same tariffs that these nations apply to goods made in the United States.
Trump said that we will soon impose reciprocal tariffs – they charge us, we will charge them. Whatever tariffs any company or country, such as India or China, imposes, we want to be fair; hence, we will impose reciprocal tariffs.
