The Shadow Of Corona On The Assembly Elections

The shadow of Corona on the assembly elections, the Election Commission wrote a letter to the five states, know what EC said-

Corona has overshadowed the assembly elections to be held in five states Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

Days after assessing the corona situation in five election states, the Election Commission has asked them to increase vaccination and ensure complete vaccination of personnel deployed on election duty.

Sources said that in a recent letter to the chief secretaries of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur, and Punjab.

The commission has reminded them that polling personnel fall under the category of frontline workers and are eligible for a vigilance (publication) dose.

The Election Commission has written a letter to the Chief Secretaries of the five states asking them to intensify the fight against Corona.

The shadow of Corona on the assembly elections: The commission has directed the states to intensify the anti-COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

Not only this, but the Election Commission of India has also expressed concern over the low percentage of the first anti-Covid-19 dose in Manipur.

Recall that on December 27, the Election Commission along with Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan had assessed the corona situation of the five electoral states.

It was noted that in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Manipur, the number of first dose recipients is still low, while in Uttarakhand and Goa it is approaching 100 percent.

Sources say that in view of the threat of Omicron, the Election Commission has also decided to ensure strict adherence to the Corona Protocol.

If sources are to be believed, the Covid protocol issued by the Election Commission will be equally applicable to political parties, polling staff, and voters.

If sources are to be believed, there may be some restrictions on the violating leaders, then the voters who reach the polling place without a mask can also be stopped from casting their vote.

All India Bar Association (AIBA) has also sent a memorandum to the Election Commission to postpone the upcoming assembly elections in Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand in view of the rapid transition of the new variant Omicron of Corona.

Association (AIBA) says that nowadays a large number of people are gathering in election rallies without following the Covid protocol.

In such a situation, if the elections in the states are not postponed, then despite all the efforts, lakhs of people will be killed again in the country.
