Director Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files has emerged as a surprise at the box office.

Set against the backdrop of the expulsion of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the 1990s, the film has set a record of four days of release, which many big-budget and face films do not get.

The amazing thing is that the collection of The Kashmir Files on the first Monday is almost four and a half times more than the opening day. Such a box office picture is extremely rare in Indian cinema.

According to trade reports, on March 14, The Kashmir Files has made a net collection of 15.05 crores, with which the film’s 4-day net collection has reached 42.20 crores.

Film collections usually drop after the working weekend, but The Kashmir Files passed the litmus test on Monday with full numbers.

First Monday’s earnings are almost equal to Sunday’s collections. On Sunday, the third day of the opening weekend, the film collected 15.10 crores.

The Kashmir Files, which reached theaters on March 11, took a normal opening of 3.55 crores.

After this, taking more than 100 percent jump on Saturday, did a great collection of 8.50 crores. In the opening weekend, The Kashmir Files made a net collection of 27.15 crores.

This debate has intensified after it reached the theaters and the effect of this debate is also visible on the ticket windows.

The emotional content of the film is being liked by the people and they are eager to see the truth of the expulsion of Kashmiri Pandits on-screen.

In view of the theme of the film, it has been declared tax-free in many states. These include states like Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.

The Kashmir Files stars Darshan Kumar, Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Puneet Issar, and Pallavi Joshi in the lead roles.
