A bomb blast was targeted at a security forces vehicle in Peshawar city of Pakistan, in which a security personnel has died.

Four paramilitary force personnel and several others were also injured in the bomb blast that targeted a vehicle on Monday, a senior police officer said.

Five officers and three civilians were injured.

According to information, the attack took place on Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel in front of Prime Hospital on Warsak Road in the capital of the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Warsak Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Arshad Khan said that according to initial reports, five FC officials and three civilians were injured in the blast.

Police engaged in an intensive investigation.

The police officer said the blast was an improvised explosive device (IED) attack.

Khan said that further investigation is going on in the matter and a report of the bomb disposal unit is being prepared for a thorough investigation of the blast, after which the clear facts will come out.
