Tension rises along the Assam-Mizoram border, CM Sarbananda Sonowal reviews the situation. Due to the explosion in the school of Assam, the tension on the Assam-Mizoram border has increased further.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the situation in a high-level meeting with senior officials of the state government and police. The CM has directed the officials to take necessary steps to maintain peace and brotherhood in the border areas.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal called up Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday and informed about the latest situation. Shah assured them of full cooperation in making the situation normal and amicable.
The Union Home Secretary has held several rounds of talks with officials of both the states but no result has been found.
The tension rises on 17 October when some mischievous elements demolished 18 huts and temporary dwellings along the border. After this, the national highway number 306 going to Mizoram was stopped.
On Saturday, a primary school building near the border exploded. The school is located in Cachar district of Assam. The blast took place on a 12-hour called bandh call by student organizations in Assam.
The bandh was to protest against the kidnapping and killing of an Assam man in Mizoram.
Earlier on 22 October, a Bengali language school in the Cachar district has also exploded. The police are holding anti-social elements responsible for both the blasts which exploded using indigenous bombs.
Due to the latest explosion, tension has increased on the border of both the states.
Tension continues along the Assam-Mizoram border. Meanwhile, a primary school building near the inter-state border in Cachar district has been blown up by unknown miscreants.
Police said the incident occurred on Saturday morning. Currently, there is widespread outrage among the people of an Assamese citizen of Mizoram who was allegedly abducted and killed. Student groups here are opposing the murder.
According to a leading news agency, the life of the Cachar district has also been affected due to the 12-hour shutdown called by student organizations of Assam. Police said that the school was present in the remote Sadirkhal forest area in the Dholai area.
The explosion in the school building was so strong that his voice was heard far and wide. However, it is a matter of honor that no casualties have occurred in this blast.
