A bench of Justice Siddharth Mridul and Justice Rajneesh Bhatnagar said that the speech is objectionable and obnoxious.

The bench made the remarks when senior advocate Tridip Paes, appearing for Khalid, read out a part of Khalid’s speech before the court.

When the bench asked what was the charge against Khalid. In response, senior advocate Tridip Paes, appearing for Khalid, argued that Khalid was accused of conspiracy but he was not present in the city.

Prima facie Umar Khalid’s objectionable speech is not acceptable: Speech made is not acceptable.

While making the above oral observations, the bench issued notice to the Delhi Police on Khalid’s bail plea and directed the Delhi police to file its reply in three days.

The next hearing on the petition will be on April 27. Umar Khalid, who has been in jail for 19 months, has challenged the Karkardooma Court’s decision to deny bail on March 24 in the Delhi High Court.

Umar Khalid was arrested on 13 September 2020 in the North-East Delhi riots case in February-2020 and is in custody since then.

Police filed a case against the four on Sunday night on the Tahrir of Mandir Sevayat Kanha Goswami after the photos of Namaz on internet media went viral. On Monday, the police also arrested Faizal Khan from Delhi.

The remaining three comrades are being searched. Police have so far come to the conclusion that Faizal Khan has also been involved in demonstrations involving the CAA and NRC.

The police have also received videos of the speech given by Faizal Khan on these issues. Currently, two police teams are pushing for the rest of the comrades.

SP Rural Shrish Chandra told that the servicemen have feared Faizal and colleagues to be foreign. Foreign funding will also be investigated by acquiring the bank accounts of the four.

Inspector Barsana Azad Pal Singh said that about a dozen policemen who had been in contact with Faisal for two days have been isolated.

They will also be investigated by covid-19. He said that two police teams have been deployed in search of absconding associates, they will be arrested soon.
