Supreme Court Gave Three Days’ Time To The NGO Chief

Supreme Court gave three days’ time to the NGO chief, apologies for the false allegation on the court.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday gave three days to the president of an NGO to tender an unconditional apology for defaming and threatening the court.

Simultaneously, the court told him that he had deprived himself of a sympathetic approach and the time had come to take some punitive action against him.

A bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and MM Sundaresh was hearing a petition filed by Rajiv Dahiya, chairman of NGO Suraj India Trust.

The petition had sought quashing of the apex court’s 2017 judgment under which Rs 25 lakh was filed against him for repeatedly misusing the jurisdiction of the apex court by filing 64 PILs without any success over the years.

An order was made to recover the cost.

The apex court had issued contempt notice to Dahiya as to why action should not be taken against him and punishment for his attempt to defame the court.

Reserving its verdict in the case, the court said that in the contempt proceedings, the defendant and the contemptuous person have appeared in pursuance of a bailable warrant.

We have heard them in detail. We have also heard learned Additional Solicitor General and Public Prosecutor.

The bench said that as per the usual practice in the earlier proceedings, the petitioner finally stated that he wanted to tender an unconditional apology requesting the withdrawal of what he had said.

We have told them that they are at liberty to do so within three days and we will consider it while passing our order.

Why action is not being taken against scamsters and corrupt in the states, know the compulsions of CBI.

The scamsters and the corrupt have become happy in the states which have withdrawn the general consent given to the CBI.

In the absence of the approval of the states, the CBI is not able to take any action against them.

It is to be noted that eight non-BJP ruled states of the country including Maharashtra have withdrawn the general approval given to CBI.

According to CBI’s highly placed sources, the investigation of the bank fraud case of Rs 50,000 crore in eight states is not being started only due to lack of general approval.
